Professional Background

I have over 15 years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist (GDC Number 74712), having qualified from King’s College London. Working in private practice in London, I often saw patients who displayed common oral habits, such as mouth breathing, as well as younger patients who would suck their thumb.

I was introduced to Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) in 2019. As I learned more, I recognised the wider, detrimental impacts these habits could have on a patient’s oral, and overall, health. This led me to training and qualifying as an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, and then later as a Buteyko Breathing Instructor to support my patient work.

I have been providing Myofunctional Therapy as a Therapist for five years and have gained extensive experience in treating children and adults alike, including complex cases. I have a special interest in working with children to promote healthier habits. I am passionate about promoting early intervention and preventing general health and dental concerns later in life.

The Myo & Me Approach

In my role as a Myofunctional Therapist, I believe in making therapy as enjoyable, accessible, and manageable as I can for the patient and their family, to drive successful outcomes. I really enjoy finding fun and creative ways to put this into practice with younger patients during their Myofunctional Therapy treatment.

I’ve seen the positive results of Myofunctional Therapy first-hand through my own children, and witnessed the profound difference it can have on a child’s quality of life and growth patterns – as well as the effect this can have on the wider family.
